Battling Pornography

Battling Pornography through the Lens of Science and Faith

(2 Hours)

Pornography is a multi-billion-dollar industry. And it has had a huge impact on individuals, families and societies. In Singapore, a survey in 2016 indicated that 91 percent of teenage boys and 35 percent of teenage girls had watched or read sexually explicit materials within the previous year.

By now, the statistics are likely to be worse.

Why is pornography addictive? How can we tackle this scourge in our lives that has devastated so many individuals and relationships?

Why do we have sexual desire? Is it good or bad? Should we suppress it or indulge in it? Is there another option?

This session seeks to understand pornography from the perspective of science and faith, and how we can help our children avoid its snares.
